I am writing a position description for volunteers on one of the nursing units and need a new way to list the duties.

    What I have is:

The 3rd West volunteer serves as an extension of good will for the hospital to the families/friends of patients on 3rd West.  The volunteer provides updates of patients to families/friends and offers possible assistance.

    1. Deliver charts where they are needed

    2. Water flowers

    3. Tidy up linen closet and kitchen

    ect.

Does someone out there have a position that you could share with me that makes the volunteer duties look important.

This is what I have been asked to do and if someone out there has a good format I sure would appreciate it.

I have a nursing unit assignment description that is pretty detailed.  You can see it by going to my website at www.saintjosephvolunteers.org.  Once there, click on the red button labeled "Volunteer Opportunities", then scroll down the left side of the page to "Patient Services Team".  Hope this helps :)
