MultiHospital Volunteer Programs

    Are any of you a part of a health system with more than one hospital?  If so, do your Auxiliary's work together or does each Auxiliary focus only on their particular hospital?  Does each facility in your system have a DVS?

    Mary, we are one of eight hospitals in our system and our Auxiliarys/Womens' Boards operate independently.  Each also has their volunteer director/coordinators.  Barb

    Our system has 7 hospitals.  I am in charge of three of them. For these 3 we have one Guild.  The other hosptials in the system operate independently, each with its own Auxiliary and Volunteer Administrator.

    Until recently there were two separate Auxiiaries at two of our larger hospitals. When one of these hospitals closed and a new hospital opened I folded all Auxiians into one organization. Our smaller hospitals still each have a separate Auxiliary. I am DVS for the large hospital and have "consultative" responsibility for the three smaller hospital Auxiliaries.

    Our hospital system consists of 7 hospitals.  Each hospital has a DVS, with the exception of the mother/baby and pediatric hospitals, which I'm the DVS of both.  We do not have auxiliaries, however, we do have a Council of the DVS's.  We meet monthly and coordinate policies and procedures and make sure that our programs are operating consistently within the whole organization.
