Does your facility make badges for Job shadowers?  A question has been raised about whether Joint Commission would have issue with job shadowers not having badges.

Our organization recently required that every person in the building have a photo ID badge, so we now do for even our short term/one day observation or shadowers. In their requirements they are asked to email a headshot photograph to us or call to schedule a time to stop by and have a photo made.

I do  not know about this because I don't handle job shadowing in our facility. I don't remember ever running into someone who is shadowing either.  I think we have very few and that it is discouraged.

We photo everyone and give a badge.  Must present a license, or if under driving age, a photo will be made.  Of course that person must be accompanied by an adult.  No one gets on a patient floor or medical area without a badge.

By the way, the kids love having their photo made and wearing a badge just like the grown folks...

We are looking to change our system to Easy Lobby, if you are considering a system to issue one day paper badges to visitors, etc.
