I read some of the information on auxiliary dissolvement but the information was from the forum in 2009.  How many more of you have changed or dissolved your auxiliary?  I am looking for a new structure with mine and it is because I am having difficulty finding leadership positions mainly President and Vice President.  Any help or suggestions there?  They would prefer to be volunteer services and come in and enjoy their jobs, more patient centered the better.

At Children's of Alabama, we are in the final phase of transitioning the Auxiliary from a traditional role to more of a service based, advisory board.  This should be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2017.

Foundation now does ALL fundraising activities, and the gift shop is now a department of the hospital, not run by an auxiliary.

The Auxiliary at my organization is a Fundraising arm and falls under the Foundation Office. Most Auxiliary members do not volunteer in the hospital and most hospital volunteers are not Auxiliary members. For instance, the dues to belong to the Auxiliary are $50 a year. Auxiliary members hold an annual black tie fundraiser and host other fundraising events in the building. Hospital volunteers do not staff their fundraising events or help with the "ball."

So they still exist, but are appeal to a different group of people than those who volunteer. There is some crossover - some who are members and volunteer. But the number is low.

    Thanks,

    Patty
