How Does a Forum Work

Welcome to our Forum!!  Some of you may be asking right about now...how I am supposed to use this??

Take a look at the Disaster Drills topic.  Robin started the topic and the subject of her message becomes the topic name.  As you can see, I replied to her and my reply now becomes a comment in the topic.

So, lets say you have a question about vendors for uniforms.  You would click "Create a new topic".  The subject of your topic should be very specific so all other members know exactly what will be contained.  So lets say your subject is "Vendors of Volunteer Uniforms".  In the body, you ask your question.  As each person responds to you, their comments will be visible to all.

Here is the really great thing about using the forum.  The topics and the comments can stay here forever.  So six months from now when one of our members has a question about vendors for volunteer uniforms, they can simply scan the topics and read all of the previous answers instead of having to ask the question again.

You can subscribe to the forum as a whole or to any particular forum topic.  By doing so, any new postings or comments will be emailed to you so you won't miss anything.  This also means you can remove your subscription to specific topics that don't apply to you.  To manage your subscriptions, log in, go your member profile and click on Subscriptions.

Lets us this topic for any questions and answers you have regarding using the forums :)

Thanks for setting up this forum -- great way to exchange info!!  When do you choose "reply" and when should choose "comment?"

Either one will work although I think choosing "Comment" is better.  If you reply, the entry will have a reprint of the original message.
