I'm curious what metrics are monitored in Volunteer Programs and what quality improvement projects are implemented. Thanks!

The QMS indicators I monitor monthly are:

Vol hours served per active volunteer; Value Wage hours; Turnover rate; number of volunteers who served for the month; budget variance and net gain of volunteers..

Turnover rate is a big project this year (due to the expense of onboarding) and I had to develop a full recruitment plan to follow for FY 2019 to increase the number of volunteers.  As part of my "goals" I was to sustain a predetermined average for number of active volunteers who served...unfortunately we have little control over this due to LOA's for illness, etc.  Of course staying within "budget" is always a key factor.

As a quality improvement project I developed (through the great help of my SHVL colleagues) a process to follow for  handmade items being donated to the facility which had to go through Environment of Care Committee for approval.
