Volunteer Leaders
What dept does your volunteer program come under?
We currently fall under our CFO, but there is discussion that we will be realigned Patient Experience in the next year.
used to be Foundation as it was at one time only auxiliary who did fund raising and volunteers were not within department so everything was kept status quo for years and years.....Now it is HR
In the hospital I’m at currently, we report to Operations. In the first hospital I worked at we reported to the Foundation and then Community and Government Relations.

We report to the Chief Human Resources Officer, and it is reflected in how our program is received by the other departments in the hospital. Meaning we are considered the unpaid human resources department. All of our policies mirror the HR policies as best we can.
In the past, it has fallen under Marketing and Foundation, respectively.
Currently, I answer to the Director of Quality Services.
We are based in the Foundation and assist with fundraising events.
I report to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
I have in the past 24 years reported to the Director of Community Relations, the VP of HR, and the CEO. Now I am under the Foundation Department and the Chief Officer of that area.
