Does anyone have volunteers at Nursing homes?  If so, do they follow the same regulatory rules as hospices, hospitals, or their own unique rules?  Specifically regarding on boarding requirements and competencies.

    Thanks,

    Jill

We have a nursing home associated and owned by our hospital system. I do not manage the volunteers on that site, but they do complete the same application process, health appraisal, and background check.  However, they accept one-time only people (they call them volunteers) who enter without completing that intake process. They could be a group who performs for an evening, a person visiting with a pet (no requirement for training like we have in the hospital), or someone offering to call BINGO.

    Hope this helps.
