Does anyone have an online orientation? If so, could you send me a link to review? Or, share what web platform you use, or do you have it linked to your hospital website? I'm looking for a free/very inexpensive platform. Thanks!

    Good morning Christine,

We use the HR training system for our volunteer trainings. The benefit is that it is free to us. The drawback is that it takes time to make changes and we don't have an easy way to get proof that volunteers have completed the training (they have to print a certificate after they take the training and bring it in to us because the system won't automatically notify us).

To view our trainings click on the link below and follow instructions to create a user name. Then you'll be able to use the links to our training modules.

Please feel free to contact me directly in you have any questions!

Like Allyson, we use the same orientation program as HR.  In fact our volunteers do the exact same general orientation that new employees complete.  Only difference is that new employees also have specific course to their hire location.

Of course there is a cost associated with this, so the online orientation is down the list of things the applicant must complete before becoming a volunteer.  We also have timelines for each step to be completed or you don't become a volunteer.  That way we don't have applications hanging around for a long period of time.  It also shortens the time from application to actually starting as a volunteer.

My application is through Volgistics and can be completed online. The orientation manual, test, etc is also there but can only be printed out and brought or sent in to me.

You can see ours at the bottom of our website: www.wmhs.com.
