If you've had Joint Commission or your HR department request documents for your volunteers, can you share your process or experience? This was the first year I've had this request from our Human Resources department.

When Joint Commission is in the house, they get whatever they ask for.  During our last visit in April, they selected one of our therapy dogs and wanted all records for the human and the dog as well as our policy.  I understand this is an area they are checking at many places.

Regarding HR, while we report to the save VP and work closely together, the only requests between us is when a volunteer becomes an employee or an employee becomes a volunteer.  Records are kept in two separate systems.

We had JC here and this is the first time I've been asked to provide anything. They asked for my volunteer manual and orientation process, including the checklist. I sent it to HR and it was returned to me at the end of the survey. I heard nothing at all back.
