    1. Do you require immunization information from your vols? If so, what (i.e., Hep B, MMR)?

    2. If you require it, are there any age factors involved?

    3. Who pays for immunizations or testing - the volunteer or the hospital?

We require proof of MMR vaccination or immunity and a tb test.  If the volunteer does not have proof of MMR vaccination, we will take them to our lab for a titer to prove immunity.  We pay for both.  We recommend a Hep B vaccination but do not require it.  If a volunteer would like to receive the Hep B vaccination we will provide it at no charge.

Jamine, is this the case regardless of age of the volunteer? We currently only require proof of immunization for those born 1957 or after, but are looking to make a change.

We require 2 tb tests and for adults, either proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or proof of immunity to rubella, rubeola, and mumps. We provide the titer testing at no cost to the volunteer. If the tests reveal no immunity to any of the 3 diseases, the applicant must take our free MMR vaccinations if he wishes to volunteer. Teens must show proof of 2 MMR vaccinations; we do not do titers for teens or give MMRs.  We do require and provide TB testing for teens.
