Dissolving an Auxiliary

Have any of you had your Auxiliary dissolve due to lack of members willing to serve in leadership positions on the Board?  We're having an awful time getting people to serve.  We don't have a President-elect at all.  The board just voted to change the structure & terms of service in hopes of attracting some new people, but I'm not sure it will help.  Our current President has one more year to serve, but after that..... The nominating committee has approached everybody and we've put out a plea for nominations (self or otherwise) and have gotten zero.  It seems our people simply want to volunteer, nothing more.  This is definitely not my call to make, but as an Advisor & ex-officio member of the Board, I need to be prepared to discuss the options.  I would appreciate any advice from those of you who have gone thru similar situations.  Thanks!

We are going through exactly the same thing.  I will be very interested to hear from others also on this topic.

We dissolved our Guild here at North Oaks at the end of last year. As in Jan's case, there was just was no interest from the membership to serve in an officer role. I'd seen it coming for several years. The Executive Committee wrote to our administration, requesting their official "approval" to disband. I don't think anyone has missed the group. Folks were always confused about the difference between volunteers and Guild members anyway.

I would be interested in these responses as well.  We were in a similar situation a couple years back, but have found a few to serve at least for this year and maybe next.  Additionally, one of our sister facilities has dissolved for all practical purposes, they only have about 5 active volunteers...not even enough to staff a Board.  One of them wants to reinvigorate the Auxiliary, but we're not sure it's technically still exists since it's been so inactive  Anyone know what legal requirements there are since they are a 501(c)3?

We do not have an auxillary, but my volunteers show an absolute lack of interest in forming one.  Did not know this was becoming a trend.  Glad to read the comments.
