CAVS to CDVS

For those with current CAVS certification, SHVL will transfer your current CAVS certification to the SHVL national CDVS. We are offering this opportunity because many of us also hold the CAVS certification and we understand how hard you worked to obtain this professional designation. CAVS to CDVS Process:

    • Register as an active member of SHVL. If you have not already done so, please register here!
    • Email a copy of your CAVS certification to Lynnis Hornsby at lynnis.hornsby@balladhealth.org (Note: If you passed the CAVS exam but have not received a certificate please contact Lynnis to discuss alternative documentation options)
    • We will send you a certificate and a pin stating you are now certified through SHVL as a Certified Director of Volunteer Service (CDVS)
    • We will notify 2-3 months prior to your date for re-certification
    • Re-certification is every 5 years and the current cost is $50
    • The recertification process consists of documentation of continuing education hours, leadership involvement both within your organization, within your state and national organizations and within your community. It is not a test!
    • The Certification Committee will review and determine whether applicant meets the recertification criteria
    • We will notify applicants via email whether they have achieved recertification
