We have received a request from Labor & Delivery to make stillborn gowns. Do any of you have volunteers involved in this and if so, can you share your pattern?

    Thank you!

Cindy,  I have the program here at CMC.  Several people contribute to the package presented.  The package contains gown; stocking hat; satin hat, envelope for a lock of hair, two mini diapers made of cloth (one is for a keepsake for the parents); satin envelopes for all the keepsakes with a beautiful satin ribbon closure and a white blanket which measures about 18x18.  The gowns are made from donated wedding gowns.  I do not have access to the patterns but there are several on pinterest which are free to download.  The same group also does a hanker chief trimmed with a lavender color material for the mother.  (this item is used less and less - it seems to have become rather dated).    For those that are too small for the gown they also make a wrap which measures about 10 x 10 with a half pocket and satin ribbon closure.  Each set of items is individually bagged as a set  and kept as air tight as possbile so the satin does not discolor.

    Hi Cindy~

I have a sewing guild that makes these gowns. They used to use donated wedding dresses but recently changed to purchasing silk. I will reach out to the president and ask for a pattern :)

    Happy Holidays, Cara
