Cheer Cards

I am looking to get information on setting up the Cheer Card Program. It's where on the hospital website a family member or friend can choose a card and fill in the information wanted on the card. It goes to Volunteer Services and is printed and delivered to the patient. I have been unable to find any information on how to get started with it.

    Thanks!

Nancy - We have had Care Cards for over a decade.  Take a look at our website   St. Elizabeth Healthcare - Send A Care Card (stelizabeth.com)

Once a Care Card is created and submitted, it is received in one of the Care Card Outlook email inboxes (we have an email box for each hospital).  Then a volunteer is responsible for monitoring the inbox - checking in Epic to see if they are currently a patient, noting the room number, printing them (we do purchase a "nicer" paper for the Care Cards than normal copy paper), folding them (tri-fold), adding a Care Card sticker to seal, and then twice a day delivering them to the patient rooms.  If the recipient is not currently a patient then we have an automatic reply that the volunteer can send.

Let me know if you have any questions or want additional information.  They are popular with churches and OB offices too :-).  Once we had a patient that was sharing her medical journey on social media.  The spouse posted that followers could send a care card - we stopped counting when it was over 500 in 3 days.  We also stopped folding and stickering..

Here's the link to our e-card information:  Send an e-card (sharp.com)

Our process is very similar to the others shared here: Digital Marketing team forwards card to respective hospital, Volunteer Services prints it and delivers it to the patient.

Our system is the same as others. We cut, fold, and put in envelopes that we address to the patient. If the patient has gone home, we mail these to the patient's home address.

Is it a program your hospital came up with or is there a company you use? We had it a long time ago and I am trying to set it back up but can't find out where the cards come from. The program that is being used is what I need.

    Thanks!

We have the same thing as far as cheer cards go.

Also, my office gets a list of birthdays for patients and we do cards for them as well.  We print them off and deliver to the nurse's station. They all sign the card and then deliver to the patient.
