Apart from the normal student volunteer programs, do any of you or your hospitals have a student camp in the summer months? Something like a 1–2-week camp for students to gain experience in a hospital setting. Maybe smaller groups of students having speakers from different medical professions, activities, etc.?

We had a very competitive two-week program called MASH (Maury Academy for Students in Health) prior to COVID. When we worked to have the program again in 2020, we only had 15 applicants, when normally we would have 90-100. I found that most students did not want to get the required COVID vaccine. Due to this we transitioned to a Work Based Learning program which we are currently piloting. 

I have attached a brochure about our MASH program and am more than happy to share anything you would be interested in. We plan to incorporate some of the unique hands-on activities created for the MASH students into the WBL program this fall.
