I onboard all volunteers including spiritual care. If i interview a candidate and find they are seeking a spiritually based opportunity, I forward their application onto the chaplain. After onboarding, the chaplain does added training as they have the specific educational background. The spiritual care volunteer team reports to the paid spiritual care employee. I remain keeper of the documents. (as a side note: our chaplain has resigned and we are in the process of interviewing and will hire a new spiritual care employee - so this information is very timely and most helpful).
