In Coming Patient Lift Assistance Request

    Who do your information desk volunteers call for lift assistance requests from incoming patients arriving for various appointments? Trying to nail down a policy and procedure if someone has one out there.

    We currently have the volunteers ask a triage question - Can the patient move on their own? If YES - provide a wheelchair and push if needed, if NO - contact security.

    If the patient is not able to move themselves - we ask that they be driven to our ED department.  The staff there will help them out of the vehicle.

    If they are able to get themselves into the wheelchair, the volunteers take over from there.
