hospice volunteer leadership

For those of you who have hospice divisions in your system - does the volunteer leader report to the same person the volunteer leaders in other areas report to?

For example, do both the hospice volunteer manager and the hospital volunteer manager report to the same volunteer director?

My understanding is that hospices have to have a dedicated volunteer leader, but I can't find any information speaking to what their reporting structure needs to be.

    Thanks,

Our Hospice volunteer coordinator reports to a different area.  She reports to the Hospice Director.

In hospice, both the volunteer leader and volunteers are considered part of the interdisciplinary team. When I worked for a private hospice, prior to working within my hospital, I reported directly to the Hospice Director.

The reporting structure can vary from hospital to hospital.

    Hope this helps.

At our health system the hospice volunteer coordinator has a dotted line to me as the system director for hospital regulatory/compliance but reports directly to the hospice director on site.

    Hope that helps!
