For those of you who have volunteers driving golf carts or other types of vehicles to transport patients/visitors, what type of additional screening/testing do you require beyond your usual orientation? I would assume a DMV check to be sure they have a clean driving record, but what about a DOT physical or something similar? Do you utilize a driving simulator of some sort to test their driving acuity?

We have an inside electric cart, the Courtesy Cart. All our driver's must be covered by our insurance under the Risk Department! I've attached the forms that we are required to have them fill out and the policy, Risk completes a Motor Vehicle Report and lists them as an approved driver. We also have a staff or volunteer train them with a checklist - also provided!
