a HUGE THANK YOU to Laurie Bennett and the CarolinaEast Healthcare System in Newbern, NC for helping me today. my grandparents (only living relatives on my step-dads side of the family left and my only set of grandparents left) were living in Norfolk, VA and for several days i have been trying to get in touch with them and could not. my grandmothers bday is coming up- sent her a bday card and it was returned, the phone # that i have been calling for years and just called a week ago this past friday was disconnected. i got worried and called the norfolk police department and they sent an officer out to their house...the neighbors gave them a NC # and told them that my grandparents had been relocated to a retirement community in newbern, nc.....when i called that # there was no answer.....i used whitepages.com and the name associated with that # was not one that i recognized...so i looked up the DVS in Newbern, NC...gave her a call and the staff in the office was most helpful in helping me find the #'s to the 7 retirement communities in the are and the 1st one i called was the one they were living in.......the news that followed my asking if my grandparents were there was not good news......the receptionist told me that my grandmother had passed away....however, my grandfather is there and is doing well........although the news is not the news i wanted to hear right now, i am thankful that i have found my grandfather and its because the staff at Carolina East Healthcare System in Newbern, NC took the time to help me in my time of distress...........

Oh my goodness Robbie!  I am sorry that you lost your grandmother and this terrible way you found that out, but what a wonderful network of caring people we have that were able to help you find your grandfather! See you in Nashville.
