Attendance requirements for board members

    Hello All,
     
    I have a volunteer guild (as opposed to an auxiliary).  The Guild has Board and their guidelines are set forth in a Constitution.  In updating the Constitution this year, they would like to put in attendance guidelines for the board members.  Do any of you have bylaws or a constitution that address attendance?

    Hey!

    I am looking to do the same thing. This year our president was a regular volunteer and some of the volunteers were upset about that. So, what are your plans if you don't mind me asking? I have been giving it some thought that the board members must do so many volunteer hours per month to be on the board. What do you think?

    Nancy,

    I just emailed you our Guild Constitution as it reads right now.  We don't have anything specific about the board members being active volunteers.  At one time we had only about 3 out of 15 that were active volunteers but now they all are...more of a mind shift than anything.  The section we just added about attendance is under section 4.01.
