    Merry Christmas everyone,

We are going to utilize text messaging beepers in our Surgical Waiting Room area & I’m wondering if you have encountered any issues with guests taking them home and how they are working for you.

    I appreciate any feedback.

    Thank you for your help

We've stopped using pagers altogether as they didn't have the range we needed. Everybody has a cell phone; that's what we use now.

We have a guest paging system that we are no longer using.  It was purchased by our Auxiliary for the Same Day Surgery Waiting room, but never put into use (virtually brand new).  If anyone is interested in purchasing it, please contact me cfox@mauryregional.com

We've also tried pagers, but not the text kind.  Years ago we used simple digital pagers, but people kept forgetting to return them or not hearing them go off and were ineffective.  More recently we tried restaurant style pagers that flash and buzz, but ended up losing many of them as well.  We think cell phones work best.  That way the docs can call them and pass on info without having to wait for them to return to the waiting room unless it's urgent.

Thank you Cindy for the wonderful offer.  Our hospital also utilizes a pager system and has a system they purchased about a year ago.
