Can anyone tell me if their is a "National" color for hospital auxiliarys?  We recently changed our color from pink to teal -- but I am trying to determine if there is in fact a national color.

    Thank you-

It is my understanding that when hospital auxiliaries got started all over the nation (40+ years ago)  they all wore the pink uniforms.  That's how the nick name "pink ladies" got it's start.  As hospitals moved into more individualized branding the volunteers have changed to match their organizations colors.   This is not official.............but what I've heard many times from some of my charter "pink ladies".

I do think volunteers get the name "pink lady" from the jacket colors that has been a trade mark for female volunteers over many years. We are now in the process of changing jacket colors for male and female to red at our hospital.
