I am looking for a policy or guidelines for charging admission to volunteers who work on projects.  Foundations may be a more appropriate place to ask.  Our Auxiliary sponsors a gala each year using members as chairmen and workers and we are looking at a scale of hours worked on the project to reduce admission fees. Thanks for your help or your referral to your foundation.

Our "at large" volunteers (those who work in the hospital but are asked to help with special events) are not charged admission to the event.

We have one committee of volunteers who put together one of our 4 special event fundraisers, The Kentucky Bash, and they are not required to pay but many of them insist on buying their tables.

We have a yearly Holly Ball.  All volunteers that want to attend pay the full amount.  If they volunteer at the event, they pay for the cost of the meal only.

We sponsored a Dogwood Ball for years.  It was a formal dinner/dance fundraiser put together by the Foundation and the Auxiliary.  The volunteers worked hard to pull off the event but there was never any doubt that if they wanted to attend they would pay just like anyone else.  It is a fundraiser after all and it does have costs to cover.  They never even asked for a discount.
