I'm looking for information regarding a program where volunteers capture the Life Story of a patient.  The information is transcribed and a copy is given to the patient or the patients family.  Any information you have and are willing to share is greatly appreciated.

We don't have an active program with my system any longer; however, I saw a report from the AHVRP which mentioned numerous programs from various hospitals, and one of them was a program called Storycatchers out of Longmont United Hospital in Colorado. Below is the summary of the program from the report.

Summary of program: Volunteers interview patients and write narratives or poems depicting the patients’ life stories. If the patient chooses, the stories are shared with hospital staff, physicians, families and friends.

I can email you the document if you email me at ahughes@regionalonehealth.org.
