We have a gift shop manager and a records & reports manager both of whom are paid by Volunteer Services. The gift shop mgr receives all invoices, confirms receipt of merchandise and turns over to the r&r mgr. The r&r mgr pays invoices, balances the checkbook, prepares all financial reports and handles any collections from customers. Deposits are made by another member of the Volunteer Services staff so there's not one individual solely responsible for the money. We have an independent auditor who prepares our tax returns.
