the attached is a check list I use to keep track of each new volunteer onboarding.  it is pretty much in chronological order as things occur.  The health assessment forms are provided in the orientation packet presented generally at the end of the interview.  I hold off on the background check to the end as it is so costly.  We will be adding additional health requirements which will be put into the health assessment area.  Being a one person department it guides me through each candidate to ensure I don't miss anything.

 Our process is as follows, and I would be happy to discuss in detail each of the steps.  It was designed to have the fewest trips to the campus for a potential volunteer.

1) Online Application

2) Submit Immunization Records

3) Online Orientation

4) Mass Interview Event - Interview and a placement offer, photo made for ID, Paperwork completed for background check,  on-site drug screen and TB test if needed

5) TB tests read and uniforms sold (two days later)

6) Once results are back, we have a start week and start all of our volunteers during the same week because of our numbers (usually 40-50)

Our goal is to get a person from application to starting to volunteer within 30 days at most.  We do a mass interview event once a month.
