Our auxiliary is part of our hospital volunteer program - not a separate entity.  We do fundraising but the primary funds come from the proceeds of our gift shops.  (90% vs 10%) which is owned and operated by the hospital.

In the past we have provided funding for the  Southeastern meeting for auxiliary officers and state board members.  This year we have been asked to only send two volunteers because of cost restraints.  I have elected to send our Pres and VP/Pres elect. This leaves our state board members without money to attend.

How many of you provide money either from the auxiliary or hospital for your your state board members  to attend Southeastern?  We have two state members. Our state society sends the Pres and VP.

Our Auxiliary is a separate 501(c)3 organization.  It is spelled out in their Policies & Procedures that they will pay for the President & President-elect, or special designee if one of these cannot attend.  They also send state auxiliary board members when we have someone on the state board. I support your decision to send your Pres & Pres-elect.  Since your hospital is paying and has limited you to 2 volunteers, I think you should send the people you feel will bring the most benefit back to your program/organization.  I would hope the state board members who attend would share info pertinent to their role as state leaders with the others from their board who cannot attend.

Our Auxiliary pays for their own members to go.  We do not have provisions to pay for state board members.

Since budget cuts 2 years ago, our auxiliary has paid the expense of the DVS and president to attend.  This year, due to the close proximity, speaker line-up and conference fee /hotel affordability , they plan to send additional board members.  Our state organization sends the current chairman and chair-elect.
