    My Auxiliary is taking over our gift shop in a few weeks. I am starting to order merchandise to get us started, and wondered if anyone has any suggestions for hot items that are "must-haves". Our shop is super small, in a 75 bed hospital. We'll have the basics (candy, cards, etc) but I'm looking for some unique items that will draw in new customers. Thanks in advance for any advice & vendor suggestions!!!  - Carey Cairo

    I tried the Noelle waterbeads and they have just been insane!  I put the first order out at 10:00 AM and had to reorder at 2:30 PM the same day - and it has not slowed down.  My customers don't buy one tube they buy six or so plus the lighted bases and the scents.  Expecially for a small shop this is a great seller; inexpensive, showy, and fun.  Best of all, there is a looped CD with the first order and you can set the display up around a laptop for a real eye catcher.

    What's flying off your shelves (or tree) this season?  Please share with us what your hot seller is including company information.  There's still time for us all to jump on the bandwagon!

    So far, my best seller is a plastic red and white football ornament from The Royal Standard. (205) 699-7892.  Cost is $1.25 and I'm selling for $3.50.  I've already sold 144 and I just order another gross!  It helps that my town's college won the SEC Championship!  The ornament is available in most school colors.
