I have a difficult situation and could use some advice. There is a problematic volunteer who should be removed from our program, but is bullying everyone (including senior leadership) into making me keep her in our program. **That's non-negotiable at this point.** However, my manager said I needed to create a "probation document" that she needs to follow for 60 days, and then segway that into "behavioral standards" that she'll be held to for the duration of her time with us.

SO....I'm trying to figure out what that looks like. Has anyone ever created something similar??? Here are the things I have thought of so far:

    • Consistently clock in/out, and follow typical "pet therapy" routine in Volunteer Services.

    • Only volunteer during your assigned day/hours (TBD) on your assigned unit.

    • You are not allowed in any care team meetings and your dog is not to be part of any official treatment plans

    • He is not a facility dog and cannot be on premises when you are officially working

    • *insert typical language we give to all brand new volunteers as reminders*

We will be asking her to initial by each individual bullet point. What am I forgetting? Any advice on crafting this document would be appreciated. I'm supposed to have a draft by Thursday morning at 8:30am. TIA!

    Hi Sara

Is this volunteer part of pet therapy and a regular volunteer or an employee?  The reason I am asking is we had an employee that wanted to be a pet therapy volunteer and actually wanted to bring her dog to the hospital and leave it all day with her in a kennel. We shot that down real quick.  Each department where the dogs visit at our facilities also has a sign in sheet for the owner. The sheet requires the date, times and names of owner and pet.  This keeps track of where they were in the hospital.
