Good morning!

Does anyone have an umbrella policy to cover their volunteers while serving in the hospital? If one of my volunteers falls while serving, they are treated like a visitor and not covered. Volunteers are also not permitted to participate in patient care because they aren't covered by the hospital's policy. I'd love to create a CNA volunteer program to help newly certified CNA's get experience so they can get hired but we have a strict no patient care policy for volunteers. Just thinking if we had an umbrella policy to cover them, and they have a completed competency, we might be able to move forward. Would love some feedback or ideas of how you have made these ideas work at your facility. Thanks in advance!
